SUMMARY:

The Health and Nutrition Officer implements, with quality, health and nutrition services, and contribute to the effective management of the health and nutrition actives in line with the objectives, budget and time frame. Health and Nutrition Officers direct and coordinate the activities of staff members and manage financial and physical resources. This may include scheduling and allocating supplies, as well as overseeing new treatment protocols to create greater efficiency.

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs Monitoring and evaluation responsibility for the Health facilities that ADRA support through paying.
  • Direct supervision of the medical and nutrition teams in the Health facility.
  • Ensures the establishment and implementation of health and nutrition monitoring activities, and train staff in case detection and referral system.
  • Supports nutrition team, ensure the smooth implementation of a CMAM and SAM according to national guidelines.
  • Drafts weekly and monthly reports as scheduled to the Health and Nutrition Field Coordinator.
  • Assists in the development of monthly and quarterly work plans for activities and incoming expenditures- Ensure timely reporting in of activities in accordance with set deadlines.
  • Supervises and follows up with the Warehouse Keeper to submit a monthly inventory of the medicines in the health Facilities.
  • Performs other relevant duties and responsibilities required and requested by the Program.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in health sciences or Health administration is required.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience at least.
  • Work experience in Health as emergency response projects is preferable.
  • Previous experience working for an international NGO.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information and respond appropriately to questions from senior managers in the field.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
  • Strong English and Arabic skills, in both communication and written forms. Professional report writing skills in English is required. Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, in particular).
  • Knowledge of office management systems and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of office equipment, like printers and fax machines.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work.
