Position Summary
The Senior Officer, Mission Medical Commodities will assist the mission medical commodities manager in coordinating the complete cycle of pharmaceutical and medical commodities beneficial for any project in the implementing location. This position will also be responsible for building the capacity of Officers, Mission Medical Commodities, medical officers, and program officers through mentorship, on-the-job training as well as guidance on the use of standard quality assurance tools.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review and prepare monthly pharmaceuticals and other medical commodities supply distribution plan, update as needed, and ensure that it is clearly communicated to concerned parties.
- Coordinate pharmaceuticals and supplies management by preparing BOQs, IPs and supervising distribution process.
- Prepare medical commodities and supplies quantification and ensure that all procured items are in the essential drug list.
- Prepare shipment documents, coordinate with local authorities for necessary approvals prior to shipping of goods and arrival into the country.
- Coordinate with the local authorities during the destruction of expired or defective pharmaceuticals and medical commodities.
- Conduct quality checks, QC.
- Support technical evaluation and quality assurance processes, including the review of documents.
- Compile data and submit timely reports including weekly and monthly commodities distribution reports.
- Collaborate with the warehouse and logistics teams at project sites to ensure accuracy of documentation and timely deliveries to health facilities.
- Work with field medical officers and health facility directors to get feedback, requests, and delivery confirmations for all pharmaceuticals and other medical commodities.
- Provide on-the-job training and coaching to medical/program officers in the assigned medical office.
