Position Summary

  • Assist DKH staff in addressing any engineering-related issues or challenges raised by the partner’s in WASH and Health related rehabilitation of assets. 
  • Reviewing partners’ designs and implementations plans to ensure compliance with standard requirements for each project, and provide feedback to the partners and DKH
  • Offer technical support for any queries received from the partners.
  • Reviewing the technical assessments and ensuring alignment with other intervention documents prepared by the partner’s field engineers.
  • Reviewing the results of water quality tests (WQTs) reports and providing recommendations.
  • Reviewing the Bill of Quantities (BoQs) for proposed activities, including the Rehabilitation Works materials.
  • These tasks will be conducted to ensure accuracy, and alignment, and provide necessary recommendations based on the findings.

If a field visit is deemed necessary, the additional scope of work will include the following:

  • Conduct a field visit if necessary to clarify documents or physically assess projects to align with the Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and assessments.
  • Provide on-site training for conducting assessments and developing BOQs.
  • Deliver a field visit report.

Approximate Date :Consultant Contract Issued to Successful Candidate(s):    June 2024
Period of Engagement: approx. 6 months phased during the period from 15th June to 15th December 2024 

Deliverables

Upon signing the contract, the consultant will provide the following specific deliverables:

  • Technical support to be provided for any queries raised during the contract duration.
  • Ensured compliance of partners’ designs and implementations with standard requirements, along with feedback provided.

If a field visit is deemed necessary, the additional scope of work will include the following:

  • Field visit report documenting findings and recommendations.
  • On-site training conducted for assessment and BOQ development purposes.

Applicants Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 7+ years of relevant experience; or advanced degree in engineering, finance, or related management area preferred.
  • Experience in engineering design, evaluation of technological and operations/maintenance of PV and/or renewable generation facilities.
  • In-depth understanding of PV modules, inverters, and their impact on performance and reliability.
  • Knowledge of module degradation and project-level useful life.
  • Proficiency in statistics and market trends analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong deadline management skills.

Evaluation Criteria

Proposals will be evaluated in accordance with the following criteria:

  • Interview of the candidate.
  • Knowledge and expertise in humanitarian principles.
  • Consultancy experience with similar tasks.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Fluency in English (both reading and writing), with fluency in Arabic considered an additional asset.
